Description. This is the student club within the department. The club is open to all, and in particular students majoring in Mathematics or Computer Science are encouraged to participate.
Events. The club hosts/sponsors a variety of events. On Fridays during the Fall and Spring semester, the club sponsors a pizza lunch/social at noon in Root Hall room A-187. Sometimes a presentation is scheduled during this time for people to watch while they eat. Other times, there is no presentation planned, and all in attendance are free to socialize (about Math, CS, the universe, and everything).
The club also sponsors a problem solving contest regularly. See the SAMCS Contest site for more details.
Mailing list. Announcements about club activities are normally mailed to the mailing lists for Mathematics and Computer Science majors, and flyers are posted around the department.
